When Townsend receives the file, Townsend uses proprietary processes to modify the image based on the patient information and brace options you select. The modified file is sent to a three axis mill to carve a positive model of the patients limb that is used to fabricate the custom brace. For carbon fiber and composite braces, a vacuum lamination process is used. For aircraft aluminum braces, the metal parts are hand-contoured to intimately fit the leg model.
